How to create GCP budget and billing alerts

Creating a budget

  • Login to the GCP billing console:
https://console.cloud.google.com/billing
  • Select the relevant project from the list
  • From the left pane, click on "Budgets & alerts"
  • From the main pane, click on "Create budget":
  • Budget name: Specify here a name for the budget
  • Project or billing account: Select the relevant project from the list
  • Budget amount: Select "Specified amount", and specify the amount in the relevant currency
  • Include credit as a budget expense: Leave the default setting selected
  • Set budget alerts at 75%, 85% and 90%
  • Click on Save
  • Logoff the GCP billing console
